At Rafiki Retreat, we deeply value our community.
True to the meaning of our name, "Rafiki," which translates to "friend," we believe this space is dedicated to fostering long-lasting friendships, creating cherished memories, and making a positive impact in the lives of those around us.
One of our ongoing initiatives is supporting a local children’s football club. This initiative aims to provide young talents with the opportunity to explore their abilities and passions. Many of these children come from families facing significant challenges, and they often lack access to after-school activities. Without such opportunities, some may find themselves engaging in less constructive paths. By supporting this football club, we aim to give these children the chance to simply be kids exploring their interests, building their confidence, and nurturing their dreams.
The trainers and leaders of the club are doing incredible work to inspire and motivate these young players. However, the club is in need of essential equipment to help the children thrive. This is where we invite our guests, especially those with a love for football, to join us in making a difference.
You can contribute by donating football-related items such as shoes, jerseys, footballs, or any other equipment that will help these young athletes pursue their dreams. While we have not yet established a formal process to receive financial donations, any cash contributions are welcome and will be directed towards purchasing much-needed football gear.
Together, we can help bridge the gap and provide these children with the tools they need to succeed both on and off the field. Thank you for joining us in making a child’s dream come true.
Introducing Our Community-Focused Travel Tour
We are thrilled to announce a new addition to our offerings at Rafiki Retreat.
A meaningful travel tour experience designed to give back to the community.
This full-day activity allows travellers to make a positive impact while enjoying their journey.
As part of this tour, each traveler contributes a $100 donation, which is included in the package.
On the day of the activity, travellers will have the opportunity to decide where the funds should be directed. Our focus is on two key areas within our neighbouring community :
the local health Centre and a nearby school. Travellers can vote on whether the funds should go entirely to one of these causes or be split equally between them.
Once the decision is made, we will use the collected funds to purchase essential equipment or materials needed by the chosen cause, whether it’s medical supplies for the health center or educational resources for the school. The day will conclude with a meaningful and rewarding visit to the selected location, where we will deliver the donations and engage in activities with the community.
For upcoming groups, if travelers are in the mood and have the energy, we can also arrange a friendly football match with our children’s team. This will not only create a fun and memorable experience but also provide an opportunity to make additional donations to the football club.
We welcome all types of donations for these three specific areas:
• The children’s football club (e.g., football shoes, jerseys, balls, or other equipment)
• The local health center (e.g., medical supplies or materials)
• The local school (e.g., educational tools, books, or other resources)
This initiative is more than just a tour,
it’s a chance to connect, give back, and leave a lasting impact on the lives of those in our community.
